Kenai, SoHi, Homer, Nikiski volleyball all win

The Kenai Central volleyball team celebrated senior night by toppling Seward on Friday 25-8, 25-19 and 25-7 in Southcentral Conference play.

The Kardinals finish the regular season at 10-0 in the league and 15-0 in nontournament play. The Seahawks finish at 5-5 and 5-7.

The seniors honored for Kenai were Kimberly Chanley, Cali Holmes, Jorgi Phillips and Genesis Trevino.

Holmes had 12 kills and 10 digs for Kenai, while Emma Beck had 11 kills and 13 digs, Phillips had 24 assists and eight aces, and Chanley had 17 digs.

Soldotna 3, Kodiak 1

The host Stars moved to 2-5 in the Northern Lights Conference and 7-8 in nontournament play by defeating Kodiak on Friday. The scores were 25-21, 25-20, 21-25 and 28-26.

Nicole Dickinson had 43 assists for SoHi, while Katelyn Morrison had 19 kills and 22 digs, Sadie Lane had 15 kills, Kiara Forkner had 13 digs, and Clare Henry had four aces.

Homer 3, Grace Christian 1

The visiting Mariners moved to 7-2 in the league and 7-4 overall with the Southcentral Conference victory. The scores were 25-23, 25-21, 21-25 and 25-18.

Mariners coach Stephanie Carroll said her team is missing leading hitter Izzy Dye this weekend due to sickness, Homer was adjusting during the match.

Brooke Shafer had 21 assists and three aces, while Nevaeh Diaz had six aces, Channing Lowney had 13 kills and three aces, and Gracie Miotke had seven kills.

Nikiski 3, ACS 1

The visiting Bulldogs moved to 4-5 in Southcentral Conference play and 5-6 overall by defeating Anchorage Christian Schools. The scores were 23-25, 25-23, 25-13 and 25-21.

Ashlynne Playle had 15 kills, four blocks and four aces for the Bulldogs, while Avery White had seven kills, Savanna Stock had five kills, 20 assists and 17 digs, and Kailey Stynsberg had 24 digs.
