Volleyball roundup: Nikiski, Homer win; SoHi loses

The visiting Nikiski volleyball team defeated Grace Christian 3-1 on Saturday in Southcentral Conference play.

The Bulldogs won 25-19, 25-13, 24-26 and 25-13 to move to 5-5 in the league and 6-6 overall in nontournament play.

Avery White and Alexa Iyatunguk each had seven kills for the Bulldogs, while White added four aces.

Homer 3, ACS 0

The visiting Mariners swept Anchorage Christian Schools to finish 8-2 in the Southcentral Conference and 8-4 in nontournament play.

The scores were 25-23, 25-10 and 25-18.

Channing Lowney had 16 kills and six aces for the Mariners, while Gracie Miotke had 12 kills, Goldie Hill had four kills, and Brooke Shafer had 32 assists and three aces.

Kodiak 3, Soldotna 1

The host Stars fell to the Bears in Northern Lights Conference action Saturday. The scores were 23-25, 25-20, 25-11 and 25-23.

Katelyn Morrison had 18 kills and six aces for the Stars, while Sadie Lane had 13 kills and 18 digs. Also for SoHi, Kiara Forkner had 17 digs and Nicole Dickinson had 34 assists.
