Saturday: Southern Division again controls north

The host Kenai Central volleyball team improved to 8-0 in the Southcentral Conference at 11-0 overall in nontournament play with a 25-16, 25-15 and 25-8 victory over Anchorage Christian Schools on Saturday. Kenai has still not lost a set in nontournament play.

Emma Beck had 16 kills and 10 digs for Kenai, while Genesis Trevino had four kills, Jorgi Phillips had 23 assists and seven aces, Kimberly Chanley had 19 digs and four aces, and Cali Holmes had four aces.

Seward 3, Grace 0

The host Seahawks moved to 5-3 in the Southcentral Conference and 5-5 overall with a 25-23, 25-23 and 25-17 victory over Grace Christian on Saturday.

Nikiski 3, Redington 0

The host Bulldogs topped the Huskies 25-9, 25-20 and 25-21 on Saturday to move to 3-4 in the Southcentral Conference and 4-5 overall.

Ashlynne Playle had eight kills for the Bulldogs, while Avery White had four kills and six aces, and Savanna Stock had 10 aces.

The Bulldogs host the Kardinals today at 6 p.m.
