Volleyball roundup: SoHi, Kenai, Seward all win

The host Soldotna volleyball team won its first Northern Lights Conference match of the season Friday by defeating Palmer 24-26, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21 and 15-8.

The Stars also won their fifth straight nontournament match to move to 5-5 overall and 1-4 in the league.

Katelyn Morrison had 18 kills and nine aces for SoHi, while Nicole Dickinson had 31 assists and six aces. Kiara Forkner added 24 digs.

Kenai 3, Houston 0

The visiting Kardinals rolled to 25-21, 25-7 and 25-16 victories in Southcentral Conference action Friday.

Kenai is now 5-0 in the league and 7-0 in nontournament matches. Kenai has not lost a set in any of those matches.

Emma Beck had 14 kills, 13 digs and eight aces for Kenai, while Kate Wisnewski had five kills, Jorgi Phillips had 24 assists and five aces, and Kim Chanley had 20 digs.

Seward 3, Redington 0

The visiting Seahawks topped Redington 25-21, 25-13 and 25-18 to move to 2-2 in the Southcentral Conference and 2-3 in nontournament matches.
