SoHi wrestlers take 2nd at Houston Altercation

The Soldotna wrestling team took second Saturday at the Houston Altercation.

South Anchorage won with 226.5 points, while Soldotna had 181. Nikiski was 11th with 52 and Seward was 13th with 43.

Hunter Richardson won first place at 189 pounds and also was named the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.

Also getting first place for the Stars were Jacob Strausbaugh at 112, Isaac Chavarria at 152, Daisy Hannevold at girls 145, Trinity Donovan at girls 152. Getting second for SoHi was Sam Strouse at 103, Bowen Korth at 152, Jessica Leclair at girls 107 and Erin Bell at girls 152.

Hunter Bras was third at 140 for Soldotna, while Jace Guilliam was sixth at 103.

For Nikiski, Mayaac Schmit notched a championship at 285. Paisley Maxwell was second at girls 120, Elliana Isabell was third at girls 165, Robert Isabel was fifth at 215 and Shyra Loomis was sixth at girls 132.

For Seward, John Van Buskirk was third at 285 and Tommy Jarnig was fifth at 103.
