Nikolaevsk MIxed 6 volleyball wins Denali Conference

The Nikolaevsk Mixed 6 volleyball team won the Denali Conference tournament in Nikolaevsk over the weekend. Kodiak Emerging Small Schools was the runner-up and earned the other berth to the state tournament.

Fort Yukon earned third place at the tournament and also nabbed the sportsmanship award.

The Most Valuable Player went to Vera Fefelov of Nikolaevsk. Also on the all-tournament team were Korena Nelson of Kodiak ESS, Zachary Trail of Nikolaevsk, Chris Phillips of Kodiak ESS, Doran Mahler of Fort Yukon, Nikit Fefelov of Nikolaevsk, Travis Amodo of Kodiak and Kalenik Molodih of Nikolaevsk.

The all-academic team consisted of Vera Fefelov of Nikolaevsk, Annisha Strom of Fort Yukon, Kristin Klaich of Nikolaevsk, Elizabeth Fefelov of Nikolaevsk, Korena Nelson of Kodiak ESS, Brennan Bogardus of Kodiak ESS, Chelsea Johnson of Nikolaevsk, Markiana Yakunin of Nikolaevsk, Alyssa Engler of Fort Yukon and Doran Mahler of Fort Yukon.
