The Kenai Central volleyball team lost at Wasilla on Saturday, while Homer defeated Houston on Friday at Redington Sr. Jr/Sr High School.

The Kardinals lost in three to the Warriors 25-18, 25-16 and 25-21 to fall to 6-7 overall and 2-7 in the Northern Lights Conference.

Abby Beck had 10 kills, an ace, a stuff block and 17 digs, while Alli Steinbeck had 17 assists, two aces and 21 digs. Cierra King added five kills.

The Kards finished 0-3 on a road trip to the Matanuska-Susitna valleys.

“It was not a great weekend, but I hope we can bounce back and get back on track,” Kenai coach Tracie Beck said.

Homer edged Houston 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 20-25 and 17-15 on Friday before also topping ACS in five games on Saturday. The Mariners are now 4-5 overall.

Coach Pam Rugloski said it was good to finish the road trip with a pair of wins, but said she would have liked to finish both matches quicker.
