Kenai Central athletes sign collegiate letter of intents

Kenai Central High School has had several busy weeks of college signings, as 14 students penned letters of commitments to play collegiate sports.

John Delgado and Avery Hieber both signed to play football at Trinity International University, an NAIA-level school.

Four Kardinals signed commitments to run Division II track in college, including three that are headed out to Valley City State University in North Dakota. Hurdle specialist Katie Kilfoyle, jumper Julie Wilson and sprinter Bethany Coghill all signed to compete for the Vikings, while sprinter and jumper Josh Jackman committed to the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves.

Mikaela Pitsch signed to dive for the Oklahoma Baptist University swimming and diving program, a Division II school.

Lara Creighton signed her commitment to play basketball at Wenatchee Valley College, a junior college in Washington.

Pitcher Gavin Petterson inked his commitment to play baseball at Columbia Basin College, a junior college in Pasco, Washington.

Emily Halstead signed to play soccer at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, Washington.

The Kenai Central commits joined a growing list of college-bound athletes that includes Chase Gillies (signed to play football at University of Dubuque, Iowa), Tristan Landry (signed to play soccer at Peninsula College, Washington), Abby Beck (signed to play volleyball at Rocky Mountain College, Montana) and Max Dye (signed to play golf at Marian University, Wisconsin).
