The visiting American Legion Post 20 Twins picked up 10-0 and 18-5 league victories over South Post 4 on Thursday to finish a three-game league sweep on a road trip to Anchorage.
The successful road trip leaves Post 20 at 5-2 in the league and 11-5-2 overall, while the Wolverines fall to 2-5 in the league and 5-11 overall.
First, the Twins finished up a game that was suspended June 9 with a 10-0 victory in five innings.
The game was suspended with the Twins leading 1-0 in the second inning, so Matthew Schilling, who pitched five scoreless innings in a victory over Eagle River on Wednesday, got those two scoreless innings from early June added to his ledger.
Jack Harper finished off the game with three scoreless innings, allowing two hits while walking one and striking out two.
At the plate, Schilling was 2 for 3 with two runs, Jacob Joanis had three RBIs, Jayden Stuyvesant was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI, and Clyde Clemens had a pair of RBIs.
The Twins kept on rolling in the second game, with the offense rolling up 10 hits and 12 walks in again ending the game in five innings.
The top three in the order were dominant, with Daniel Steffensen going 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs, Jett Brophy going 2 for 4 with three runs and an RBI and Schilling going 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI.
Also, Jayden Stuyvesant scored two runs and Jackson Koetitz, Malakai BeDunnah and Gavin Peterson each collected two RBIs.
The Twins used four pitchers to get through the game — Joanis gave up two runs on two hits in an inning, Brophy gave up two hits in a scoreless two innings, Clyde Clemens gave up three runs on three hits in an inning, and Stuyvesant pitched a perfect inning.
Post 20 returns home with a noon doubleheader against Eagle River, with the first game being league and the second game being nonleague.
