Andy Liebner, a 2001 graduate of Soldotna High School, will host a cross-country ski camp from June 5 to 9 on the central Kenai Peninsula.

The camp is for cross-country skiers who want to brush up on technique and establish an endurance base for the upcoming season. The camp will include both freestyle and classic roller-skiing was well as pole bounding, pole running and circuit training.

There will be two sessions daily — from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 3 to 5 p.m.

Liebner had a decorated career at Soldotna, earning a Class 4A cross-country running championship and the Besh Cup trophy in skiing.

He went on to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage and Northern Michigan University. At the two schools, he had four NCAA All-American titles. He was the men’s winner of the 2009-10 American Ski Marathon series, coached Roberto Carcelan of Peru in the 2014 Winter Olympics and is owner of the United States Ski Pole Company.

The cost for the clinic is $125, with scholarships based on need. Skate and classic roller skis will be available, but those needing that gear should register as early as possible to make it easy to provide.

For more information, call or text Paul Kupferschmid at 907-398-3512 or track down registration forms at Beemun’s Bike and Ski Loft, and Wilderness Way.
