Braves sweep Kards

The host Mt. Edgecumbe girls and boys basketball teams defeated Kenai Central on Thursday in Sitka.

The Kenai girls fell to 11-8 with a 79-65 loss to the Braves.

Emma Beck exploded for 45 points in the loss, while Chloe Goldsby had 11, Ella Yragui had six, Rylie Sparks had two and Grace Kahn had one.

For Mt. Edgecumbe, Cadence Dull had 18, Tahira Akaran and Carliese O’Brien had 13, Kathy Jones had nine, Bessie Williams and Tessa Anderson had eight, Brooke Markoff had five, Shaedyn Barr and Bethany Akaran had two, and Genneva Kamkoff had one.

The Kenai boys fell to 10-9 with a 63-50 loss to the Braves.

Jakob Kvasnikoff hit for 18 points for the Kards, while Bridger Beck had 13, Wade James had eight, Daniel McRorie had five, Carnell Gump had four and Luke Armstrong had two.

For Mt. Edgecumbe, Kaison Herrmann had 26, Jacob Friske had 14, Ranen Wassillie had 12, Miles Bourdukofsky had eight and Tyrell Cromer had three.
