Soldotna dominates Railbelt, Division II awards

The Soldotna football team dominated the All-Railbelt Conference and Division II all-state awards announced Monday.

The Stars finished 11-0, including winning the Division II state championship and winning the regular season conference title at 7-0.

SoHi swept the major awards.

Zac Buckbee was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Wyatt Faircloth was Defensive Player of the Year, Kenai Lepule was Lineman of the Year, Galen Brantley Jr. was Coach of the Year and Tai Lepule was Assistant Coach of the Year.

Buckbee made the first team in both the Railbelt and Division II at quarterback and defensive back.

Faircloth made the first team in both the Railbelt and Division II at running back and linebacker.

Lepule made the first team in both the Railbelt and Division II at offensive guard and defensive line.

Also for Soldotna, Collin Peck was first team in the Railbelt at running back and linebacker, second team Division II running back, and first team Division II linebacker.

Andrew Pieh was second team Railbelt defensive back, and first team Railbelt and second team Division II tight end and long snapper.

Gehret Medcoff was first team Railbelt and Division II fullback.

Ala Tuisaula was first team Railbelt and Division II offensive tackle.

Hakoa Montoya was first team Railbelt and Division II offensive tackle.

Elijah Lee was first team Railbelt and Division II defensive line.

Trevor Michael was first team Railbelt and second team Division II outside linebacker.

Lokeni Wong was first team Railbelt and second team Division II defensive back.

Jace O’Reagan was first team Railbelt and Division II kicker.

Andon Wolverton was second team Railbelt return specialist.

Leigh Tacey was second team Railbelt utility player.
