Peninsula racers compete at Tour of Anchorage

Kenai Peninsula athletes put together several top-10 finishes in the Tour of Anchorage ski and bike races Sunday.

Bradley Walters of Soldotna led the peninsula by finishing sixth in the 40-kilometer men’s freestyle with a time of 1 hour, 58 minutes and 42 seconds. Tucker Mueller of Kenai was seventh in the men’s 25-kilometer classic at 1:50:55, while Soldotna’s Melissa Smith was 10th in the women’s 40-kilometer freestyle at 2:22:21. In the biking events, Homer’s Catriona Reynolds was 10th in the women’s 50-kilometer at 3:51:49.
