Peninsula has 7 compete in basketball all-star games

The Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches held its senior all-star games Saturday at Grace Christian School in Anchorage, with seven players from the Kenai Peninsula taking part.

In the Class 1A/2A girls game, Blue was able to record a 42-37 victory over Gold. Cook Inlet Academy senior Tatum Rozak was able to contribute five points to the winning cause. Rozak also led Blue with 11 rebounds and was able to dish out four assists.

In the Class 1A/2A boys game, Blue had a 96-73 victory over Gold.

Ninilchik seniors Cole Moore and Jaylin Scott played for the Blue team. Scott led all scorers in the game with 23 points, hitting 10 of his 17 field-goal attempts. Moore had eight points and also was able to grab 10 rebounds.

Cook Inlet Academy senior Abraham Henderson also played for Blue. Henderson hit 5 of his 8 field goals in getting 14 points, and also tied the game high in rebounds with 14.

In the Class 3A/4A girls game, Gold defeated Blue 90-85. Soldotna senior Josie Sheridan hit a 3-pointer in finishing with five points for Blue, while Kenai Central senior Malerie Nunn went scoreless for Blue.

In the Class 3A/4A boys game, Blue notched a 103-101 victory over Gold. Jakob Kvasnikoff, a senior from Kenai Central, hit a 3-pointer and finished the game with five points for Gold.
