The Nikiski volleyball team lost Southcentral Conference matches in Cordova on Friday and Saturday.

Friday, the Bulldogs lost 25-14, 25-20 and 25-15.

“We came out maybe a little overconfident,” Nikiski coach Stacey Segura said. “Maybe we didn’t expect as much as Cordova showed up for. We were a little bit out of it and making silly mistakes.”

Saturday, Nikiski lost 25-22, 14-25, 26-24, 21-25 and 15-11.

“The girls turned around and played really well tonight and I’m really proud of that,” Segura said. “It was a huge step this team needed to get better.”

Seward also played in Cordova on Friday and Saturday, losing in four on Friday and winning in five on Saturday.
