Homer softball tops Soldotna

The visiting Homer softball team defeated Soldotna 19-1 on Monday, moving to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Northern Lights Conference.

McKi Needham pitched all three innings for the Mariners, giving up just three hits and an earned run. Delaney Schneider pitched for the Stars.

On offense for Homer, Riley Walls was 2 for 4 with four runs and three RBIs, Maggie LaRue was 3 for 4 with two runs, Needham was 3 for 4 with two runs and five RBIs, Larsen Fellows was 3 for 3 with two RBIs, Kyle Pitzman was 3 for 3, Mary Hanna Bowe was 2 for 3, Kayla Stafford scored two runs, and Pam Jantzi scored two runs.

Olivia Farrell scored the lone run for SoHi, which drops to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the league.
