Colony softball wins Bash by the Bay

The Colony softball team won the Bash by the Bay in Homer by accumulating a 4-0 record in the Friday and Saturday tournament.

Homer was second at 3-1, while Kenai was 2-2, Palmer was 1-3 and Soldotna was 0-4.

Saturday’s scores were Colony 17, Palmer 1; Homer 5, Soldotna 4; and Kenai 11, Palmer 4. Homer won a nontournament game 7-6 over Colony on Saturday.

Friday’s scores were Colony 11, Homer 0; Colony 9, Soldotna 5; Homer 12, Kenai 2; Colony 9, Kenai 8; Palmer 6, Soldotna 2; Kenai 11, Soldotna 6; and Homer 18, Palmer 13.

The Palmer-Homer game on Friday was conference and also was Homer’s senior night. Grace Godfrey, Hannah Hatfield and Haylee Owen were honored. Annalynn Brown and Kaitlyn Johnson, seniors from last season and volunteers this season, also were honored because they missed senior night last year due to the season getting canceled.

The all-tourney team was Ashley Zielinski, Shaylie Romprey and Emma Morrissey from Colony; Hannah Hatfield, Grace Godfrey and Zoe Adkins from Homer; Zaharah Wilshusen from Kenai; Brook Fischer from Soldotna; and Camryn Frank from Palmer.
