Area rowers compete at Moose Nugget Regatta

The Alaska Midnight Sun Rowing Association of the central Kenai Peninsula and the Kenai Crewsers Rowing Club of the eastern Kenai Peninsula traveled to Wasilla Lake to compete with the Anchorage Rowing Association on Saturday and Sunday at the Moose Nugget Regatta.

Over 80 rowers competed in 46 events on the five-lane buoyed course. The results for peninsula rowers follow:

Saturday

Women’s single scull age D-J — 1. Alaska Midnight Sun Rowing Association (Karen Hurd), 4 minutes, 38.0 seconds.

Men’s double scull age D-J – 3. Kenai Crewsers Rowing Club (Paul Kain, William Bauer), 5:06.3.

Mixed coxed four — 3. KCRC (Lori Swann, Carmen Darby, William Bauer, Paul Kain, Becky Buchanan (cox)), 4:26.2.

Women’s open coxless pairs — 2. KCRC (Lori Draper, Lori Landstrom), 2:49.4.

Mixed eight — 3. KCRC (Paul Kain, Adam Bauer, Lori Swann, Sue Faust, Becky Buchanan, Lori Draper, Tom Swann, Alexander Gavriel, Tami Bednarz (cox)), 4:06.3.
