ConocoPhillips contributes to food drive ConocoPhillips awarded a grant of $2,500 to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank in support of the 2014 Cook Inlet Food Drive. ConocoPhillips employees gathered 2,500 pounds in November during their Kenai food drive. Grant funds and the food collected will be used to distribute via the Food Bank's 70 member partner agency feeding programs, the Fireweed Diner meals and the Direct Service Emergency Food Program.   Food and funds gathered will provide 5,000 meals to individuals like Nikki who says "We as a family really appreciate the generous donations this food bank distributes to people just like us who struggle to eat well. Financial hardships hit most everyone at some time and it is wonderful to know we have this resources available in times of need.  Thank you all!"  Between October 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014, Food Bank staff distributed food directly to 4,968 individuals with a typical day serving 90 of those individuals via the Direct Service program.
