Rain forces Oilers to try doubleheaders Sunday, Monday

Due to rain, the Peninsula Oilers were not able to play the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Friday or Saturday in Alaska Baseball League play at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.

Those games will be made up in Sunday and Monday doubleheaders.

The Sunday doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m., while the Monday doubleheader will begin at 4 p.m.

The Oilers had opened the series Thursday with a 4-3 victory over the Chinooks.

The Anchorage Bucs lead the league with a 17-7 record, while the Oilers are second at 13-11, the Mat-Su Miners are third at 12-13, the Anchorage Glacier Pilots are fourth at 11-16 and the Chinooks are fifth at 8-14.
