Ostrander receives MW Athlete of Week award

Boise State redshirt junior Allie Ostrander was named Mountain West Women’s Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Ostrander posted the fastest collegiate time in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase Thursday at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Standford University, although it wasn’t without some help. Ostrander won the race in 9 minutes, 45.66 seconds, but had to sprint out New Mexico’s Adva Cohen by .05 seconds.

Ostrander’s time was the fastest by an American woman in the event in 2019, and is currently the third-fastest in the world this year.
