Nikiski volleyball finishes up at West Valley Invite

The Nikiski volleyball team finished up play at the West Valley Invitational on Saturday short of becoming one of the top four teams to make it to bracket play.

In pool play, Nikiski lost a late Friday night match to Valdez, the defending Class 3A state champion, 25-13 and 25-11. Saturday, the Bulldogs split with Palmer, winning 25-16 and losing 25-20; lost to South 25-10 and 26-24; and lost to West Valley 25-12 and 25-18.

Ashlynne Playle made the all-tournament team for Nikiski, while Savanna Stock was the coach’s selection by Stacey Segura.
