Jonah Theisen, of Kenai, placed 64th in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Florida.

The Black Hills State University sophomore finished the 10-kilometer course in 31 minutes, 43.5 seconds, to improve on his finish of 133rd at the meet a year ago.

Theisen has now run in all four of the national meets for which he has been eligible in his career. He ran at cross-country nationals last season, earned All-America honors with the distance medley at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, then won the steeplechase at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
