Jacoby wins 50, 100 breaststrokes at Pro Series meet

Lydia Jacoby, a 2022 graduate of Seward High School, won the 50- and 100-meter breaststrokes at a Pro Series meet in Westmont, Illinois, over the weekend.

Thursday, Jacoby won the 100-meter breaststroke in 1 minute and 6.09 seconds. In 2021, Jacoby won a gold medal at the Summer Olympics in the event in a time of 1:04.95. Lilly King, who won the gold in 2016 at the Summer Olympics in the 100 breaststroke, was second at 1:06.39.

Friday, Jacoby took fifth in the 200 breaststroke, swimming 2:26.57. King won at 2:23.68.

Saturday, Jacoby was able to come back and beat King in the 50 breaststroke. Jacoby touched at 30.29 seconds, while King was second at 30.44.
