Friday softball: SoHi wins, Homer loses

The visiting Soldotna softball team defeated Colony 13-7 in four innings Friday in nonconference action.

The Stars are now 6-9-1 overall.

Isabelle Cruz pitched the first three innings, giving up three runs on eight hits while whiffing four. Lexi Stormo pitched the last inning, giving up four runs on three hits.

At the plate for SoHi, Miah Mead was 3 for 4 with four RBIs, Alyssa McDonald was 2 for 3 with two runs, Brook Fischer was 2 for 2 with two runs, Stormo was 2 for 3, Kiara “KiKi” Forkner was 2 for 2 with two runs, and Londyn Deborski was 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs.

Palmer 20, Homer 8

The host Moose used a 12-run second inning to defeat the Mariners in four innings Friday in Northern Lights Conference play.

The Mariners are now 3-6 in the league and 3-16 overall.

Ariana Davis scored twice for the Mariners, while Alaiyah Brost was 2 for 2 with two RBIs.
