Colony baseball edges Homer

The Knights held on for a 10-9 victory over the Mariners Saturday in Southcentral Conference play.

Colony posted six runs in the first inning and continued to build the lead to 9-2 after three frames. From there, Homer began to heat up by plating two runs in the bottom of the fourth and five in the sixth, but couldn’t complete the comeback with a scoreless seventh inning.

Seth Adkins pitched 2 1-3 innings and gave up one earned run on three hits while striking out two. Adam Brinster was credited with the loss with 2-3 of an inning on the mound, giving up six runs on two hits and five walks.
