Seward native Matt Adams claimed the fifth and final Salmon Run Series race of the year Wednesday evening on the Tsalteshi Trails.

Adams blitzed the five-kilometer course — which featured the Owl and Squirrel loops and included a run up the daunting “Kill Bill” uphill — in 17 minutes, 7 seconds, beating runner-up Dan McIntosh by more than 2 1/2 minutes.

Kenai’s Alex Bergholtz crossed the finish line as the women’s winner in 21:47, good for 10th overall.
