Poet’s Corner: Searching

Searching

By Jennifer Williams, Kenai

You were searching for the definition of ideal

but most of us don’t even know what we want

how can we choose someone

when we don’t know what we are looking for

blindly hoping for that special someone

without a clue if they exist

in a small town full of known faces

you were someone I was never looking for

but still I knew I wanted you in my life
