The borough is receiving $37,458,449, which will be provided in three installments.
The ordinance to change the process to a vote-by-mail hybrid was enacted on a vote of six to three.
The assembly will appropriate more than $82 million to the borough’s general fund.
The reopenings are part of phase one of the borough’s approach to reopening responsibly.
Kenai, Homer, Soldotna, Kenai Peninsula Borough and Anchor Point all reported cases.
The nonprofit is serving about 650 meals a day across the peninsula.
The platform would be purchased for no more than $400,000, with expected delivery in four to six months.
The extension would be set to end Sept. 19.
All registered borough voters would receive a ballot in the mail a few weeks ahead of election day.
The creation of the commission was included as a goal of the borough’s comprehensive plan.
