The host Seward volleyball team defeated Soldotna 20-25, 25-16, 25-17, 22-25 and 15-13 on Tuesday in nonconference play.
The Seahawks are 3-2 in nontournament play, while the Stars are 5-5.
The Stars, a Class 4A team, continue to get great Class 3A competition locally. Soldotna has lost to Nikiski and Seward in five sets, and defeated Homer twice — once in five sets and once in three sets.
Sadie Lane had 15 digs, 12 kills and three digs for the Stars, while Kiara Forkner led the team in digs with a career-high 32 and led in aces with four.
Also for SoHi, Kiona Dexter had 19 digs and two aces, Athena Rossiter had seven kills, Abygale Shaeffer had six kills and Sarah Brown had 23 assists.
