Tuesday: Soldotna hockey cruises past Homer

The Soldotna hockey team defeated Homer 15-1 on Tuesday in Northern Lights Conference action at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

Both teams were playing their first game after the holiday break. The Stars move to 8-7-2 overall and 3-3 in the league, while the Mariners drop to 1-8 and 1-3.

SoHi received two goals from Draiden Mullican, Noah Crabtree, Nathan Hawkins and Peyton Williams, and a goal apiece from Chloe See, Sylas Hughes, Zack Zurfluh, Luke Larson, Daniel Heath, Cody Grimes and Brooklyn Larson.

The Mariners got a power-play goal from Seamus Hatton.

Brycen Clyde had 10 saves on 10 shots for SoHi, while Fynley Holkko had a save on two shots. For Homer, Reace Brothers had 19 saves on 34 shots, while Ali Gall saved all three shots she faced.

In hockey action this weekend, Kenai hosts South at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8.

On Friday, Jan. 9, the Stars host South at 3:30 p.m. at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex and Homer hosts Juneau-Douglas: Yadaa.at Kale.

On Saturday, Jan. 10, Kenai hosts South at noon, while Homer hosts Juneau at 1 p.m.
