The Ninilchik boys shook off the Kodiak ESS squad Wednesday night for a 61-40 nonconference hoops win.

Austin White scored 24 points to lead Ninilchik, while teammate Tyler Presley chipped in 21.

Kodiak took an early 16-15 lead over Ninilchik, but the Wolverines responded in the second quarter by outscoring the Bears 15-6 to head into the locker room with an eight-point lead.

After extending its lead to 40-29 in the third quarter, Ninilchik pumped in 21 points in the fourth to seal the win.

Three Kodiak players fouled out, which led to Ninilchik getting a lot of time on the free throw line. The Wolverines hit 19 of 38 shots from the line, with 6-foot-8 White going 10-for-17 himself.
