The Homer softball team defeated Ketchikan 9-7 in seven innings Thursday in Juneau. Homer was playing Juneau-Douglas in a late game as the Clarion went to press.
McKi Needham pitched five innings, giving up five earned runs on eight hits. Annali Metz pitched the last two innings, giving up two runs on two hits.
On offense, Mary Hana Bowe was 2 for 3 with two runs, Kelly Liebers was 3 for 4 with a run and two RBIs, Isabel Beach was 3 for 4 with two runs and an RBI, and Metz was 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
