The visiting Nikiski girls basketball team defeated Kenai Central 39-20 on Friday in Peninsula Conference action.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-2 in the league and 2-6 overall, while the Kardinals are 0-2 and 1-8.

Maggie Grenier pumped in 12 points for Nikiski, while Shelby Burman and Avery Ellis had 7, Kailey Stynsberg had 5, Alexa Iyatunguk had 4, and Mandee Roofe and Emma Weeks each had 2.

For Kenai, Avia Miller and Willow Graham led the way with 7, while Alex Nelson, Mycka Phillips and Grace Kahn all had 2.

Kenai boys 58, Nikiski 24

The host Kardinals cruised to a Peninsula Conference victory over the Bulldogs on Friday.

The Kards move to 1-1 in the league and 2-7 overall, while Nikiski is 0-3 and 0-6.

Miles Metteer pumped in 19 points for the Kards, while William Wilson had 11, Ben Harris had 8, Daniel Steffensen and Reid Titus had 6, Ryker Dykema had 5, Zane James had 2 and Jacob Katzenberger had 1.

For the Bulldogs, Seth Payne had 10, while David Weathers had 9, Dylan Hall and Lynn Deveer had 2 and Mylan Johnson had 1.

Wasilla girls 61, Soldotna 24

The visiting Warriors notched a Northern Lights Conference victory over the Stars on Friday. The Stars are 2-1 in the league and 5-4 overall.

For the Warriors, Layla Hays had 19, Mylee Anderson had 18, Kinley Lynch had 8, Livia Breshears had 7, Katie Jackson had 6 and Claire Bredberg had 3.

Anaulie Sedivy and Morgan Lemm led the Stars with 6, while Juliet Innes had 5, Kaytlin McAnelly had 3, and Sarah Brown and Hope Hillyer had 2.

Wasilla boys 57, Soldotna 46

The visiting Warriors collected a Northern Lights Conference victory on Friday. SoHi fell to 1-2 and 4-5.

For the Warriors, Gavin Morris led with 21, while Noah Kroon had 13, Ryder Howard and Aiden Pharr had 6, Barak Wagle had 4, Tristan Horton had 3, and Ledger Lusk and Eli Cox had 2.

Izaiah Gilbert had 16 to pace the Stars, while Easton Hawkins had 10, Andrew Pieh had 8, Cameron Laroque and Chris Glaves had 3, and Zac Buckbee, Jace O’Reagan and Theo Huff had 2.

41st Annual Cordova Tip-Off

The Ninilchik boys lost to South’s JV 68-59 on Friday. The Wolverines are 1-1 at the tournament and 7-2 overall.

Rowan Mahoney erupted for 31 points for Ninilchik, while Kade McCorison had 12, Kannon Hughes and Max Russell had 6, and Carter Lemons had 4.

The Ninilchik girls defeated Palmer JV 33-23. The Wolverines moved to 1-1 at the tournament and 4-3 overall.

Riley Tucker pumped in 24 to pace Ninilchik, while Addi McCorison had 3, and Lily Berger, Taylor Rickard and Jolie Webb all had 2.

Donlin Gold Invitational in Bethel

The Homer girls moved to 2-0 at the tournament and 5-5 overall with a 47-44 victory on Friday over Valdez.

For the Mariners, Channing Lowney, Minadora Reutov and Sydney Shelby all had 13 points, while Juliann Techie and Mally Im each had 4.

For the Buccaneers, Lola Compehos hit for 20, while Destiny Day had 13, Rylee Wade had 7, and Kelli Malcuit and Izzy Kizer each had 2.

The Valdez boys defeated Homer 72-42, with the Mariners dropped to 0-2 at the tourney and 2-8 overall.

For the Buccaneers, Tino Tucker had 22, while Owen Watson had 13, Jarrett Gage had 10, Kian St. Amand had 6, Jace Bradshaw, Grayson Ade and Zachary Holbrook had 5, Nick Alfaro had 4, and Barrett McCumby had 2.

For the Mariners, Lucas Story had 11, while Nathan Overson had 9, Riley Huffman had 6, CJ Burns had 5, Einar Pederson, Benjamin Engebretsen and Spencer Dye had 3, and Jamen Anderson had 2.

Lumen Christi Classic Basketball Tournament

The CIA girls lost 36-18 to Lumen Christi on Friday as the Eagles fell to 0-2 at the tournament and 0-8 overall.

Amara Warren had 18 for Lumen, while Isabel Brown had 6, Hayden Estabrook had 5, Lily Muller had 5 and Clara Estabrook had 2.

For the Eagles, Ella Rollman led the way with 15, while Mackenzie Carson had 2 and Rebekah Dillingham added 1.

The CIA boys notched a 63-13 victory over Lumen. The Eagles are 2-0 in the tournament and 6-2 overall.

Ian McGarry paced CIA with 17, while Alek McGarry had 13, Jonas Oyoumick, Jeremy Dillingham and Brandt Rollman had 6, Lucas Oyoumick and Owen Braband had 5, Matthew Phillips had 3 and Brady Baeten had 2.

Seward girls 43, Nome 22

The visiting Seahawks improved to 7-2 overall with the Friday nonconference victory.

Robin Cronin and Ava Jagielski each had 12 points for Seward, while Mikinley Williams had 7, Addison Lemme had 5, Kyana Hutchinson had 3, and Stella Dow and Lia Shank each had 2.

For Nome, Alora Stasenko and Awaluk Nichols had 5, Jocelyn Nichols-Takak and Benny Lie had 4, and Brooklynn Crowe and Claire Fagerstrom had 2.

Nome boys 64, Seward 49

The visiting Seahawks lost for the first time all season falling to 8-1 after the Friday nonconference loss.

Finn Gregg had 25 to lead Nome, while Cohen Booth had 18, Richard Cross had 9, Joe Martinson and Peyton Weyiouanna had 4, and Orson Haagendorn and Jon Smith each had 2.

For Seward, Bergen Davis had 17, while Nick Ambrosiani had 11, Ben Ambrosiani had 8, Talon Lemme had 6, Kupono Albino had 3, and Mason Elhard and Van Shank each had 2.
