Former Kenai Peninsula resident Sam Tilly won the JoongAng Seoul Marathon on Sunday in a personal-best time 2 hours, 30 minutes and 43 seconds. The 31-year-old came out on top in a race that included 17,000 runners.
According to the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame blog, Tilly has now been in Korea for four years. In Songo, which is near Seoul, Tilly teaches high school math and run the robotics program at Chadwick International School. Tilly lives in Korea with his wife, former Kenai resident Tessa Rhyner, and their two children.
