CIA soccer finishes up successful weekend

The Cook Inlet Academy coed soccer team picked up Aurora Borealis Conference victories Friday and Saturday.

Friday, CIA shut out Nenana 7-0 and continued the momentum with a 7-1 win over Tri Valley on Saturday. Including a 2-2 tie Thursday with Delta, the Eagles finished with a 2-0-1 record over the weekend.

Connor Leaf led the CIA offense with four goals against Tri Valley, and Meijan Leaf added two. Even goalie Brady Hammond got in on the action with a goal. Hammond shared goaltending duties with Chase Miller.

Hammond and Miller also combined for the shutout on Friday.
