Bird Homestead Golf Report: Men’s night draws 26 golfers

Driving all the way out to Mile 12 Funny River Road seems like a long drive, but it is worth every second. You will be amazed how nice the golf course looks.

Jeff and Curtis, the two-man show, have been working hard to keep the fairways and greens in immaculate condition. The beautiful drive is well worth playing a round of golf on a beautiful golf course.

Bird Homestead has a weekly calendar that stays the same every week to accommodate all golfers: Mondays and Wednesdays: $1 a hole – all day; Tuesdays: Men’s night – starts at 6:30 p.m.; Thursdays: Ladies night – starts at 6:30 p.m.; Friday: FlingGolf.

We always love to see new golfers at the course. Don’t have your own clubs? No problem, we have some you can rent. Don’t want to walk a round of golf, that’s OK, that’s what golf carts are for, and we have those too!

Men’s night

We had 26 men show up for men’s night on Tuesday. It was a lovely evening and the men had a great time. Chris Rich was definitely a force to be reckoned with. Not only did Chris win long drive and pure birdie, he also led his team of Dan Smith, Rich Harman and himself to a first-place victory.

Mike Fastabend hit a great tee shot on No. 6 and landed on the green winning the closest to the pin. Mark Orth had a fabulous tee shot on No.8, winning him closest to the pin.

Men’s night is every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. New men are always invited. Format is a blind-draw, best-ball scramble.

Upcoming Events

Aug. 13 is the Funny River Festival Tournament. It’s an 18-hole golf tournament. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and tee off is at 10 a.m. The tournament is scramble format. Lots of prizes, and dinner following the tournament.

For more information on any of the events feel free to call Bird Homestead Golf Course at 907-260-4653.
