Structure along Kenai Spur catches fire

The nearest cross street to the location of the fire was Knight Drive.

A structure fire near AmeriGas in Soldotna on Thursday morning was considered “under control” at around 9:25 a.m. following a response from the Central Emergency Service Fire Department. The nearest cross street to the location of the fire was Knight Drive, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management said via Facebook.

CES fire engines and other emergency vehicles could be seen parked along the Kenai Spur Highway on Thursday morning from the area near the AmeriGas to about the Rapid Car Wash near Custom Seafoods. Motorists were encouraged to avoid the area by taking Bridge Access Road instead of the Kenai Spur Highway through Soldotna.
