Sports show ushers in summer

Available for perusal were equipment, services and resources to prepare for summer fun

The 37th annual Kenai Peninsula Sport, Rec & Trade Show gathered well over 100 vendors at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex this weekend to offer what organizers have called a summer kickoff.

Available for perusal were equipment, services and resources to prepare for summer fun, as well as many attractions that attendees have come to expect like the trout fishing pond hosted by the Kenai River Sportfishing Association.

On Saturday, spaces both inside and outside the complex were packed with hundreds of people moseying from vendor to vendor, checking out gear, asking questions of professionals, talking about fishing and hunting or just partaking in the food truck selection.

New this year was a family fun zone hosted by Connections Homeschool, which on Saturday was filled with children getting their faces painted or playing a variety of games.
