Moose Pass accident sends 2 to hospital
A collision between a moving truck and a minivan near Moose Pass on Thursday left two people in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Alaska State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident near mile 45 of the Seward Highway on Thursday around 6:47 p.m. An orange 2012 International moving van driven by 23-year-old Hans Nansen of Anchorage had pulled out onto the highway in front of a blue 2007 Chrysler minivan into the northbound lane of the Seward Highway.
The minivan’s driver, 65-year-old Ernst Horn of Crown Point, couldn’t avoid the moving van, according to an online trooper dispatch.
One of Horn’s passengers was taken by LifeMed helicopter to an Anchorage-area hospital and another was taken to the Providence Seward Medical Center, both for non-life threatening injuries. Nansen was cited for the accident, according to the dispatch.
“All persons reported wearing their seat belts,” the dispatch states. “Impairment was not a factor.”
