Soldotna police have arrested a Kenai woman in connection with stealing $1,200 in goods from Fred Meyer.
Samantha Hayes, 28, was arrested Thursday and charged with allegedly shoplifting from the store and fleeing in a car. Employees originally reported the theft at 5:30 p.m., and Soldotna police contacted her around 8:40 p.m., according to a police report.
Officers arrested Hayes on one charge of theft in the second degree and on an outstanding $5,000 warrant for failing to comply with conditions of probation. She was taken to Wildwood Correctional Complex’s Pretrial facility without bail, according to the report.
Theft in the second degree is a class C felony. Hayes was arranged Friday in Kenai and is currently in custody.
