Anchorage man arrested for alleged participation in Capitol riots

He’s one of many wanted in connection with the abortive attempt to overturn the election results.

Special agents from the FBI’s Anchorage Field Office arrested an Anchorage resident on Tuesday for his alleged participation in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, according to the FBI.

Aaron James Mileur, 41, was arrested for alleged participation in the riots that left four rioters and one police officer dead and more than 100 injured as supporters of the former president attempted to overturn a vote in Congress that would certify President Joe Biden’s victory.

The case is one of a number of similar cases being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, said FBI spokesperson Chloe Martin in an email. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska is assisting in the case.
