Update 11:45 p.m.

Republican Mike Dunleavy will be Alaska’s next governor.

Dunleavy leads Democratic candidate Mark Begich by approximately 10 percentage points with 88 percent of precincts reporting results.

Republican Don Young will retain his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for a 24th term with 54 percent of the vote over Democrat Alyse Galvin’s 45 percent. Young has served in the House since 1973 and is currently the longest serving member.

Ballot Measure 1, known as the Stand for Salmon Initiative, has failed with 64 percent ‘No’ votes.

Alaska State Senate District O Senator Peter Micciche will retain his seat after receiving 66 percent of the votes with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

Republican Benjamin Carpenter has won the House District 29 seat over Democrat Shawn Butler by a large margin — 71 percent to 28 percent — with all precincts reporting.

Republican Gary Knopp has won the House District 30 seat in an uncontested race with 94 percent of the vote and all precincts reporting.

Update 10:56 p.m.

Alaska State Senate District O Sen. Peter Micciche has received 65.74 percent of the votes with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

Republican Benjamin Carpenter has won the House District 29 seat over Democrat Shawn Butler with 100 percent of precints reporting.

Republican Gary Knopp has won the House District 30 seat in an uncontested race.

Republican Sarah Vance has defeated incumbent Democrat Paul Seaton with 58.52 percent of the vote to Seaton’s 40.36 percent with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

With 66.5 percent of precincts reporting, Republican Mike Dunleavy leads the governor race over Democrat Mark Begich with 52.17 percent compared to Begich’s 43.82 percent.

Congressman Don Young is in the lead over Democrat Alyse S. Galvin for the U.S. House of Representatives seat with53.15 percent of the vote over Galvin’s 46.42 percent.

Ballot Measure 1, also known as the “Stand for Salmon” initiative, is failing with 63.26 percent “No” votes to 36.79 percent “Yes” votes with 66.5 percent of precincts reporting.

Update 10:28 p.m.

With 37.7 percent of precincts reporting, Republican Mike Dunleavy leads the governor race over Democrat Mark Begich with 52.05 percent compared to Begich’s 43.75 percent.

Congressman Don Young is in the lead over Democrat Alyse S. Galvin for the U.S. House of Representatives seat with 52.05 percent of the vote over Galvin’s 46.70 percent.

Alaska State Senate District O Sen. Peter Micciche has received 66.11 percent of the votes so far.

Ballot Measure 1, also known as the “Stand for Salmon” initiative, is failing with 62.59 percent “No” votes to 37.41 percent “Yes” votes.

Update 10:04 p.m.

With 17.7 percent of precincts reporting, Republican Mike Dunleavy leads the governor race over Democrat Mark Begich with 51.66 percent compared to Begich’s 43.86 percent.

Congressman Don Young is in the lead over Democrat Alyse S. Galvin for the U.S. House of Representatives seat with 52.58 percent of the vote over Galvin’s 47.01 percent.

Alaska State Senate District O Sen. Peter Micciche has received 68 percent of the votes so far.

Shortly after 9 p.m., state Division of Elections officials released an initial tally of about 53,000 absentee and early ballots from across the state.
