■ Triumvirate Theatre presents its 11th Annual Dinner Theatre and Art Auction at Mykel’s Restaurant in Soldotna. This year’s hilarious parody show is “Fish Wars: A Humpy Rises.” The show plays March 25, 26 and April 1 and 2. There will be a dinner, followed by the show, followed by an auction featuring airline tickets, train passes, work from local artists, and more. The show, written by Carla Jenness with help from J.R. Cox and Tyler Payment, stars Chris Pepper, Jamie Nelson, Tyler Payment, Angie Nelson, Chris Jenness, Carla Jenness, Joe Rizzo, Shannon Tappana, Annmarie Rudstrom, Brian Lyke, and Rob Ernst. Featuring Andy Gunter, Hannah Tauriainen, and George Brown. Dinner is at 6p.m., with the show and auction to follow. Events and Exhibitions

■ The Performing Arts Society announces the return of popular Alaskan violinist Linda Rosenthal, who will join pianist Richard Dowling in concert at 7:30 p.m. on April 2 at the Soldotna Christ Lutheran Church. These world-renowned musicians will perform selections from the violin and piano classical repertoire. Tickets are available in Soldotna at River City Books and Northcountry Fair; in Kenai at Already Read Books and Country Liquor; and at the door. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students.

■ Odie’s Deli in Soldotna will host a live storytelling event, April Fools — True Tales, Told Live with a Twist, at 6 p.m. April 1. Admission is free. The program is similar in format to Arctic Entries in Anchorage or The Moth storytelling series, with speakers telling true stories, with no notes to a live audience. This month’s theme is April Fools. Storytellers include Dan Pascucci, Pegge Erkeneff, Christine Cunningham, John Messick and Jenny Neyman, with music by Bunny Swan Gease and Amy Pascucci. ■ “Fiber Art Among Friends,” an exhibition of work by Claudette Barber and Laurie Marta, is on display through the end of March at the Kaladi Bros. Sterling Highway location by the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna.

■ Soldotna High School proudly presents its spring play production: The Giver! Performances will be April 7, 8, and 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the SoHi auditorium. Tickets are $10. Come support the Soldotna Drama Department and enjoy a fantastic adaptation of this classic story!

■ Tamara McCoy & Valerie Hartzell will perform April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Homer Council on the Arts. Admission by donation. Dr. Tamara McCoy is an accomplished pianist and vocalist working in a broad spectrum of styles including folk, blues, rock, heavy metal, and classical. This performance will be part of a tour through Alaska and England with her duet partner, guitarist Valerie Hartzell. Valerie is an international prizewinner in eight international competitions, and proves to be a virtuoso of classical guitar.

■ “Fabric Follies!” by Connie Goltz is now showing at the Soldotna Senior Center. Fifty percent of sales will go to the Soldotna Senior Center.

■ The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center hosts an exploration of “Traditional and Contemporary Ravenstail Weavings” by artist Kay Field Parker.

■ ARTspace Drawer is on display at the Soldotna Library, the first annual collection of locally created 2D and 3D art. The first of its kind in Alaska, this display is made possible by a partnership between Soldotna Rotary, ARTspace Inc., and the Soldotna Public Library.

■ Clash of The Culinary Kings, a Kenai Peninsula Food Bank fundraiser will be April 2. This competition will feature a cook-off between four chefs at the Challenger Learning Center in Kenai preparing an appetizer and entrée using mystery ingredients. The remaining chefs will prepare a dessert for the judges. Attendees will enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine prior to the show beginning at 7 p.m., then will vote for their favorite. ■ The Soldotna Public Library will host Special Guest Story Time with Alaskan author Erin McKittrick at 6 p.m. March 31, who will be reading from her new picture book “My Coyote Nose and Ptarmigan Toes.” She will also share original art from the book and be available to answer questions about getting kids outdoors.

■ The Kasilof Pinochle Club meets at Hooligan’s in Soldotna from mid-October to mid-April Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. Bring your own partner as the club plays team partnerships. Anyone interested in playing can call Jay at 907-252-6397.

■ A bluegrass jam takes place on the first Sunday of the month at from 1-4 p.m. at the Mount Redoubt Baptist Church on South Lovers Loop in Nikiski.

■ The Flats Bistro on Kalifornsky Beach Road has live music with Garrett Mayer on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Raymond Machen-Gray on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

■ An all acoustic jam takes place every Thursday. The jam is at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna on the first Thursday of the month, and at the Kenai Senior Center during the rest of the month. Jam starts at 6:30 p.m.

■ AmVets Post 4 has reopened in its brand new building on K-Beach across from Jumpin Junction. Eligible veterans and their families are invited to stop by to find out more about AmVets and their involvement in the Veteran community.
