Aveline Faye Russell

Nicholas Russell and Laurie Booth of Soldotna announce the birth of their daughter, Aveline Faye Russell, at 5:08 a.m. on June 10, 2015. She weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 19.5 inches. She joins a brother, Caleb Russell. Her grandparents are Steven and Pamela Russell, John and Barbara Sommer, Stephen Booth and Tommi Opheim.

Carolyn Kiefer of Kenai, a junior in the College of Nursing was named to the Dean’s List at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, for spring 2015.

Full-time students who earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the Dean’s List.

Phoebe Napolitano of Kenai, a Health Sciences major, was named to the Dean’s List in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, for the spring 2015 semester.

Events, wedding, engagement and birth submissions may not be older than six months. Wedding anniversary announcements are printed in five-year increments beginning with the 20th.

The Community page is a way to highlight activities and events that happen with a photo. If your group or organization has a photo of an event to share, submit the photo and the following information for print: Who took the photo, who’s in it, when and where it was taken, a brief description of what’s happening, and a name and phone number in case we have questions. Submissions are printed as space is available. For more information, call 335-1251.
