In regard to the invocation, which literally is praying to God vocally and as a group for “guidance” on whatever public or political agenda, seems a bit inappropriate. It seems an irrational suggestion that they needed to pray for guidance, shows little credibility for them to be able to think for themselves considering the very unspiritual issues at hand.
My hope, not prayer, is that society will evolve and progress to an age where organized religion will not have its parochial views put upon public servants.
