Cinderella’s Closet gets 67 students ready for prom

“I didn’t have the money for my Senior Prom.” Those tearful and heartfelt words I was recently told during Cinderella’s Closet. This program is where we collect gently used prom dresses, shoes, and accessories for area high school students in need.

This year, we provided 67 students with items. Since our program started in 2010, we have helped a total of 521 young ladies. Each year, our numbers expand even more. This year’s students were from Kenai Central High School, Connections, Soldotna High, Nikiski High School, Ninilchik and Homer High.

A special thank you to Kenai Performers/Curtain Call Consignment for collecting items to donate. Also, to Walgreens (especially Jeffery) for the donation of cosmetics for our program.

The program would not be possible without the help of students from KCHS and Soldotna High School volunteering with the setup, help during, and cleanup. Thank you to the staff at our schools for getting the word out about the program. Finally, to our community for all of your generous donations.

Items for Cinderella’s Closet 2017 are being collected now at the Soldotna High School main office. Let’s help make memories for more of our area teens!
