Weekend hoops: Kenai splits Houston, Seward sweeps Redington

Grace Christian topped Homer

Kenai split with Houston, Seward swept Redington, and Homer was swept by Grace Christian on Saturday.

Kenai girls 72, Houston 50

The visiting Houston girls were topped by Kenai Central 72-50 on Saturday. The Kardinals are 7-12 overall.

Emma Beck put up 44 points for Kenai to lead scoring in the game. Ellsi Miller had 12, Alex Nelson had 9, Sierra Hershberger had 4, Mycka Phillips had 2 and McKenzie Spence had 1.

For Houston, Grace Gillespie had 23 points. Dallas Winter had 10, Bella Russell and Sarah Bodfish had 7 and Andi Robinson had 3.

Houston boys 50, Kenai 46

The visiting Houston boys won out over Kenai in a close 50-46 game on Saturday. Kenai moves to 7-11 overall.

Trae Pitsch and Reid Titus had 9 points to lead scoring for the Kardinals. Daniel Steffenson and William Wilson had 8, Miles Meteer and Jacob Katzenberger had 4, Ben Harris had 3 and Carter Felchle had 1.

For Houston, Max Taylor and Keldin Nicoll both had 12 points. Noah Whitted had 11, Michael Saam had 10, Parker Bethel had 3 and Carter Seime had 2.

Seward girls 53, Redington 29

The host Seward girls dropped Redington on Saturday 53-29. The Seahawks are 11-8 overall.

Robin Cronin scored 14 for Seward. Natalie Sieminski had 11, MiKinley Williams had 9, Stella Dow had 8, Hailey Ingalls had 6 and Ava Jagielski had 5.

Alizae Crume led scoring with 17 for Redington. Abigail Dagomos had 6, Sonia Gericke had 4 and Daisy Cardoso had 2.

Seward boys 62, Redington 45

The host Seward boys took a win over Redington at 62-45 on Saturday. They rise to 16-4 overall.

Nick Ambrosiani had 15 for the Seahawks. Ben Ambrosiani had 13, Bergen Davis had 11, Talon Lemme and Emerson Cross had 6, Mason Elhard had 4, Van Shank had 3 and Kupono Albino had 1.

For Redington, both Doyle Bond and Kenneth Johnson had 14 points. Christian Ingraham had 6, Kaedon Saxton and Brady Bowler had 4 and Jake Murdock had 2.

Grace Christian girls 67, Homer 41

The visiting Grace Christian girls topped Homer 67-41 on Saturday. The Mariners are 12-7 overall.

Kiegan Niebuhr put up 14 for the Mariners. Channing Lowney had 12, Sydney Shelby had 7, Madalyn Miotke had 4 and both Lillie Mae Kuhn and Mally Im had 2.

M.J. Vander Horst had 20 for Grace Christian. Sophie Lentfer had 17, Olivia Jones had 12, Ella Boerger had 8, Poppy Pidduck had 6 and both Josie Evans-Grant and Hope Jackson had 2.

Grace Christian boys 71, Homer 34

The visiting Grace Christian boys dropped Homer 71-34 on Saturday. The Mariners are 5-14 overall.

Spencer Dye led scoring for the Mariners with 12 points. Nathan Overson had 9, Lucas Story had 8, Einar Pederson had 3 and C.J. Burns had 2.

Kellen Jedlicka put up 21 for Grace Christian. Bristol Tobin had 14, Robbie Annett had 11, Henry Beck had 8, Ashton Clarkson had 5, Brayden Clarkson had 4, Chris Jones and Joe Aldolfae had 3 and Caleb Dale had 2.
