Tuesday hoops: Seward sweeps Nikiski; Ninilchik splits with Su Valley

The host Seward boys basketball team topped Nikiski 76-34 on Tuesday in Peninsula Conference action to move to 3-0 in the league and 8-0 overall. The Bulldogs are 0-2 and 0-5.

Bergen Davis had 17 points for Seward, while Talon Lemme had 14, Nick Ambrosiani had 13, Ben Ambrosiani had 12, Lane Peterson and Van Shank had 7, and Mason Elhard, Noah Price and Kupono Albino had 2 apiece.

For Nikiski, Seth Payne had 10, while Carter Eiter had 8, David Weathers had 6, Kameron Bird and Lynn Deveer had 3, and Connor Ley and Gavin Ley each had 2.

Seward girls 39, Nikiski 34

The host Seahawks girls moved to 3-0 in the Peninsula Conference and 6-2 overall with the Tuesday victory. The Bulldogs fall to 0-2 and 1-6.

Seward led 15-4 after the first quarter and 21-9 at the half. Nikiski won the second half 25-18, but it was not enough.

Robin Cronin paced the Seahawks with 14, while Ava Jagielski had 10, Stella Dow had 7, Natalie Sieminski had 4, and Addison Lemme and Mikinley Williams had 2 apiece.

Shelby Burman led Nikiski with 13, while Alexa Iyatunguk and Maggie Grenier had 7 apiece, Kailey Stynsberg had 3, and Abby White and Madison Iyatunguk each had 2.

Susitna Valley girls 38, Ninilchik 27

The host Rams grabbed a 10-2 lead after the first quarter and 16-6 lead at the half en route to an Interior Conference victory over the Wolverines on Tuesday. Ninilchik is 0-2 in the league and 3-2 overall.

For the Rams, Con Goggett had 15, Sahai Benischek had 8, Poppy Moren had 7, Ashley Delime had 4, and Jayden Slicker and Omia Taala had 2.

Riley Tucker poured in 20 for Ninilchik, while Klohie Hughes had 4, Taylor Rickard had 2 and Kate Hendryx had 1.

Ninilchik boys 53, Susitna Valley 42

Kade McCorison pumped in 28 points as the visiting Wolverines claimed an Interior Conference win over the Rams on Tuesday. Ninilchik is 2-0 in the league and 5-1 overall.

Also for Ninilchik, Rowan Mahoney had 8, Maxx Russell had 7, Kannon Hughes had 6, Brandt Mill had 3 and Carter Lemons had 1.

Austin Barnard had 14 for Su Valley, while Miles Osmond and Henry Davidson had 6, Earl Davidson and Landon Ballard had 5, Austin Pevan had 4 and Eric Cassidy had 2.
