The Kenai Central softball team defeated Houston 12-4 in five innings Thursday in Northern Lights Conference action at Steve Shearer Memorial Ball Park in Kenai.

Blakeley Jorgensen went all five innings for the Kardinals, giving up four runs — three earned — on three hits while walking eight and striking out nine.

Avery Ellis was 2 for 3 with three runs, an RBI, a triple and a double for Kenai, while Kailey Stynsberg was 2 for 4 with two runs and four RBIs. Also, Isabel Thomas scored three runs.
